Hello Friends of SA,

First and foremost we could like to thank all of you for your support in 2010 and we apologize for our lack of communication over the last six months. Upon returning from our Island Hopping trip we all had major changes going on in our personal lives and we failed to find the time to take care of our Scooter Adventure fans. We are truly sorry.

Here are a few updates on events that have transpired since we last spoke;

Eugene took another major trip (this time on his motorcycle). He cruised up to Nova Scotia and back. Look for pics soon on our Facebook and Flickr pages. His Vespa 300S did a lot of cruising this summer. He took it all the way to Kentucky and back. The roads of West Virginia great for riding and some locals have never seen a Vespa before.

Carlos, unfortunately had an accident with his bike and she is totaled. It was a sad day for the SA team but thankfully Carlos was ok.

Jeremy's bike also has it's own problem, the spark plug stripped the cylinder head and needs to be replaced. The bike is back in Detroit awaiting repair and may end up being upgraded to a Vespa 300 Super. That does mean that his first adventure will most likely be driving from Detroit to NYC in March. Stay Tuned!!!

We have posted some video clips to our youtube channel and there will be more videos coming soon. Check them out when you get a chance, its a great way to pass time at work. You can see the legend of the Mosquitos, dancing and Jeremy's slip up. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=scooteradventures#grid/uploads

Over the next few weeks and months you can expect more articles on gear, trips, bikes and all sorts of adventurous things.

Thanks again everyone and happy scootin!!!!

It's been a little over a week from our epic scooter adventure and it's funny how quickly one can adjust back in a routine. We had 10 days of pure fun and adventure and we think we hit something interesting. In order to keep our momentum, we are happy to announce that we found a video editor for our trip, our good friend David Cox. We are planning to get a trailer and weekly episodes up as quickly as we can and after viewing some of the footage, we think we have some great stuff to show. We are excited!

Scooter adventures would like to express some "thank you's" for our trip:

Piaggio Group - for all the support, stuff you've given us, coordination and advise for our trip and the fantastic visit to the office

Corazzo - for all the gear that helped us keep warm, dry and looking good on our scooters

Leo Vince - for the extra growl and performance and excitement we had starting the scooters up every time

Gary at Motorini Vespa Savannah - for the above and beyond customer service and hospitality you showed us during our visit and stay in Savannah. Truly a highlight in our trip

Gerry at Vespa Key Largo Riva South - for the quick responsiveness, turn around on our bikes and having lunch with us in Key West.

Ryan and Jim at Vespa Daytona (Scooter Superstore of America) - for swapping out the GT200's suspension in record time and giving us a fantastic welcoming to your dealership

We are back in NYC, but we can't stop talking about our trip and we want more! Once we have our videos up, we'll make sure to announce it as best as we can. We are also going to provide more content in our website. So, stay tuned.. adventures never die..

DC to NYC

The morning in DC started with much anticipation as it was the last time we would pack up our vespas for this trip. We had the great fortune to meet up with Chris, a fellow scooterist in the DC area who followed our journey to Key West. He gave us the grand tour of Washington DC and also rode out with us, thanks Chris! We had 200 miles between us and by the time Chris had to depart and we were already in the afternoon.

We made arrangements to have a welcoming reception at 8 pm in NYC and in order to make it on time, we had to gain some ground and gain in fast. From Philly to NYC, for the first time we all agreed that the I-95 would be the best route and we were also itching to get back home. Before we entered the Lincoln tunnel we had one last photo with the NYC skyline behind us and it was the perfect shot for the perfect trip.

We entered NYC and we had to go through Times Square to get some final helmet camera shots of us celebrating. We ended our journey from NYC to Key West and back at an appropriate southern theme bar with friends and family.

Thank you everyone for your support on this Adventure.

Are we there yet?

We started the day by having a delicious breakfast at the incredible Dresser Palmer with our great friend Phill Sellers. He invited us to go on a tour of Savannah while our friends from Motorini Vespa Savannah made sure our bikes were ready to hit the road back to New York.  Savannah is absolutely beautiful, lots of history, great food and amazing people.  When in Savannah, make sure you take a tour with Phill at Savannah  Victorian Tours.

After an amazing lunch at the local market, time to hit the road, having Raleigh as our next destination... It was a hot day and we had to stop every 50 miles to hydrate making this one of the longest days of riding on the trip.  On one of our last stops of the day, somewhere in South Carolina,  we met a two cops that told us the history about a local scooter gang called "The Mosquitos"  (More details on the video). Soon after, we decided to find a decent hotel a have a good night of sleep 70 miles south of our destination, Pinehurst, NC.

To make up for the  70 miles we left behind... we decided to have an early start by getting on the road at 8am towards our next destination, Washington, DC, 350 miles away. The weather was really nice for riding and we enjoyed every single mile of Route US -15, we loved seeing the contrast of the big cities and the country. Durham, NC, was the first stop and go traffic we had on the trip after 11 days on the road.  We couldn't wait to get back on the open road.

Continuing on US - 15 N, we crossed the state line to Virginia on a much nicer afternoon of great riding getting to Fairfax, 20 miles south of D.C around 11pm. Eugene's childhood friend, Maria, and her husband Chad invited us to stay over, Thank you guys!!!

See you tomorrow New York City!!
